Privacy Policy

Last updated October 27, 2026

Wild Wise Society, a registered society ("we", "us"), is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. Our Privacy Officer answers for how it is handled. We do not sell or rent personal information.

What we collect

As you use the site, we collect how you reached it, including any campaign or referral information on the link you followed, and the pages you viewed and what you clicked.

If you email or call us, we receive your contact details and whatever you tell us.

How we use it

To reply to you, to understand which pages are useful and how people find them, to keep the site running and protect it from abuse, and to meet our legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We use service providers to run this site, and each may use the information only to provide its service. They are Cloudflare for hosting, subject to Cloudflare's privacy policy; Google for analytics; and the agency that builds and maintains the site.

We may also disclose personal information where required by law.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google's analytics services, which may set cookies and receive usage information, including your IP address. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, and the site works without them.

How long we keep it

Messages and contact details are kept while they remain useful for the purpose they were shared for, and are deleted on request.

Safeguards and where information is stored

Access is limited to the Wild Wise volunteers who handle your message. Information may be stored or processed in Canada and the United States, where it may be subject to access by the courts and authorities of that country.

Your rights

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, request a copy or a correction, withdraw consent, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within 30 days. We may first need to confirm your identity. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia at oipc.bc.ca.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top indicates the current version.
